THE JOURNEY BEHIND THE WORK

A Story Behind Every Painting

Four chapters of the same journey — through the body, the mind, nature, fear, and surrender.

I recently updated my website.

But for me, this update is not simply about adding new work. It feels more like finally putting the pieces of a journey together — a journey that has been unfolding since 2021.

Woman.Nature.Ink.Ocean.

They may look like four different bodies of work, but to me, they have never really been separate. Each one was born from the one before it.

My story began in 2021, after I graduated and started working at a photography studio.

My main role there was graphic design, but I was surrounded by photography every day — commercial projects, hotels, portraits, and different kinds of artistic work.

There was one part of the photographer’s work that particularly caught my attention: his photographs of the female body.

What fascinated me was the way he looked at women.

He tried to remove the female body from a purely sexual context and instead connect it to nature — to the shapes of the earth, organic forms, and the idea of Mother Earth.

The body was not simply something to desire.
It could be a landscape.
A form.
A piece of art.

Something about that perspective stayed with me.

And slowly, it began to change the way I saw the female body too.

When I later moved to Milan, I continued exploring that idea in my own way. Alongside my professional work, I started creating digital paintings centered around the female body.

Woman.

That became Woman.

But Woman naturally led me somewhere else.

If the female body could remind me of the earth, I began to wonder if nature itself could also be seen as a body.

During my travels, I started photographing landscapes, textures, plants, mountains, and different forms I found in nature. I would later transform those photographs through digital painting.

Nature.

That exploration became Nature.

Then, at some point, my attention shifted from the world outside of me to the world inside.

I went through a period of a few months when meditation became an important part of my life.

I became fascinated by the contrast between silence and everything happening underneath it.

How can the body be completely still while the mind is moving constantly?

Thoughts, memories, emotions, noise — all existing inside what appears to be silence.

Ink.

That inner landscape became Ink.

And then came the most personal chapter of this journey.

Ocean.

Ocean.

For a long time, one of my deepest fears has been swimming — being in deep water, surrendering my body to something I cannot completely control.

Through therapy and through confronting that fear, my relationship with the ocean slowly began to change.

I started seeing the ocean not simply as water, but as part of Mother Earth.

Almost like a womb.
A vast space that holds life, surrounds it, and gives birth to it.

And I realized that perhaps my fear of the ocean was asking me to confront something much deeper.

My relationship with my own body.

To enter the water, I first had to learn how to make peace with my body — to trust it, to surrender, and to allow it to exist without constantly trying to control it.

That realization became the beginning of Ocean.

And somehow, after all of this, I found myself returning to where everything had started:

the female body.

The more I painted women, the more my understanding of the female body changed.

It began to feel sacred to me.

Not simply beautiful, and certainly not something whose value exists only through sexuality, but something connected to creation, nature, life, and a kind of ancient sacredness.

I began to think of the woman almost as a temple — something to be approached with reverence, something to be honored.

But that is another story on its own, and one I want to speak about separately.

For now, I simply wanted to share how this journey began.

From a photography studio in 2021,
to the female body.

From the female body,
to nature.

From nature,
to the mind.

And from the mind,
to the ocean.

Woman.Nature.Ink.Ocean.

Four chapters of the same journey.

A journey through the body, the mind, nature, fear, surrender, and my own understanding of what it means to be alive.

And I think I am still somewhere in the middle of it.
